Pa-pa-PA: Hand and Finger Game

On each hand I have one thumb
right one
left one
twiddle-dee-dum

Left thumb bows
hello hello Right
Right bows back
hello hello Left
now here we go
taking turns
bending low
putting on
quite a pumping piston show

Up down Up down go the thumbs, saying hello

Then from each fist
right and left
on the count of three
one   two   three
out spring index fingers
very deft
open   close 
open   close 
reaching for a nearby nose

Count again
one   two   three
out leaps the longest of them all
middle finger
number 3
forming a beak
with index above
and thumb below
opening   w i d e
closing up
one   two   three
then whoops-swoops
the top two fingers
nimbly catch their thumb fellow
snap >   snap >   snap >
goes the beak
open close
reaching for a nearby nose
then surprise surprise
fingers separate
     catch thumb!
     release
snap > snap > snap >:
catch!
release

Then one  two  three
four   and   five
out comes ring finger
number 4
bringing along pinky
number 5
both of whom also
want to play

And now all fingers
on both hands
open   w i d e
close up tight
open  
flash!
all fingers five
close back up
scrunch!
into a ball tight fist

then suddenly
they make a big beak
thumb making it open
and close
and now it’s time to play

<   <   <   pa-pa-pa-PA!

Look out!
Here comes the beak
open
close
open
close
catching other fingers
arms   clothes   nose
books   toys   toes  
anything nearby
<   <   <   pa-pa-pa-PA goes!

One thumb and four fingers
make five
coming in with a dive

<   <   <   pa-pa-pa-Pa-PA!

five on the right
one   two   three   four   five
plus five on the left
makes   six seven   eight   nine   TEN
time to twirl hands from the wrist
then snap again
